Seven Enemas to Detoxify the Colon

In addition to following a detox diet, you can do a detox enema to remove toxins from your colon. Here are seven types of enemas to choose from:

Before choosing an enema, consult your health care physician.

1. GARLIC:

Use a garlic enema when you have an infection anywhere in your body. It will draw toxins and mucous out of the body and kill any bacteria or parasites present in the body.

RECIPE: In a blender, place 6 peeled garlic cloves (cloves). (A garlic bulb has many cloves or sprouts…use 6 of these.) Add a cup of water and mix. Strain the water into a two-quart container. Add water to make two quarts. Fill the enema bag with this and use it for the enema. If you are doing a three bag enema, triple the recipe. Always use distilled or purified water in an enema and if you are doing three bags, use water in the first two and the herbal preparation in the last bag.

2. Catnip:

A catnip enema can be used for fevers, infectious diseases, and colic in infants.

RECIPE: Soak two tablespoons of catnip leaves in a quart of boiling water for thirty minutes. Add another liter of cold water and let the mixture cool down before adding it to the enema bag.

3. CATNIP/GARLIC:

The combination of catnip and garlic is effective in eliminating bacteria, mucous, parasites and other toxins. This enema will stimulate the peristaltic action of the colon and catnip relieves pain and cramps in the colon, relaxing and calming the entire system.

RECIPE: Combine above two recipes in equal parts and add to enema bag. Make sure the solution cools down.

4. CAYENNE:

A cayenne enema stimulates the kidneys, liver, spleen, and pancreas. It also cures bleeding hemorrhoids.

RECIPE: Add one teaspoon or four empty cayenne pepper capsules to a two-quart enema bag of water. The burning sensation will go away after a while and a feeling of well-being will ensue.

5. SLIPPERY ELM:

Slippery Elm is useful in cases of diarrhea, colitis, and hemorrhoids. It is a mucilaginous herb and heals and soothes a scalded colon that is stressed by excessive diarrhea.

RECIPE: Use one tablespoon of slippery elm powder in two cups of water. Mix and add to enema bag. Fill the bag with water.

6. MINERAL WATER:

Mineral water draws out toxins from the colon and tones and heals the colon walls.

RECIPE: Add half a cup of mineral water to a two-quart bag and fill the rest of the bag with water.

7. ALOE VERA:

Aloe vera helps in the healing of the colon wall, stops bleeding from hemorrhoids and heals them.

RECIPE: Use one-third to one-half cup of aloe vera juice in a two-quart bag of water.
